Torex Introduces CL Capacitor-less 500mA Low Quiescent Current LDO Regulators
Torex Semiconductor Ltd. has developed the XC6503 Series of low quiescent current regulators which do not require an output capacitor and have a maximum output current of 500mA. The XC6503 Series of LDO regulator ICs do not need an output capacitor, have a maximum output current of 500mA, and achieve a low quiescent current. The output voltage range is 1.2 to 5.0V. Internal phase compensation allows stable operation to be obtained even without an output capacitor. No output capacitor means board design space can be saved.
Protective circuits for short-circuit protection and overheating protection are incorporated. On the XC6503D Series, the quiescent current in the standby state (when low-level is input in the CE pin) can be held to 0.1µA or less. The XC6503P is a 3-pin regulator.
Housed in the ultra-small USP-4 (1.2 x 1.6 x h0.6mm) package, these regulators are ideal for space-saving design. SOT-25, SOT-89-5 (XC6503D only), and TO-252 (XC6503P) are also available. This is also an environment-friendly product that complies with the RoHS Directive of the EU and is Pb-free.
