Taiyo Yuden Launches New AAD130 Power Supply Series

New Products Mar 17, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Taiyo Yuden USA Inc. (San Marcos, CA) Power Systems Group announced its new switching power supply, the AAD130. Featuring 83 percent efficiency and measuring just 1.25in x 3.0in x 5.0in, the four-output, 130W switcher is designed to be a small and durable power-factor-corrected switching power supply, and is the first in Taiyo Yuden’s new, high-density, power-factor-corrected switching power supply series for data communications and telecommunications and other 1U applications. In addition, the current-sharing feature between outputs of similar units make the AAD130 power supplies suitable for parallel/redundant applications.

The AAD130 is capable of correcting the input waveform to better than 0.98 power factor at full load between 90Vac and 264Vac input, enabling it to meet the mandatory IEC1000-3-2 harmonic distortion specifications and other agency approvals.

Production begins in spring of 2002. Pricing for the AAD130 is $60 in OEM quantities, with delivery from stock to eight weeks.
