Saft Power Systems Expands Sixteenth Brick Family of dc-dc Converters

Saft Power Systems announced the immediate availability of new high power dc converters, expanding its CMS family of standard sixteenth brick converters. The CMS family now offers power designers a wide range of standard products in through-hole and surface mount package options to satisfy board- level power requirements from 30W to 50W.

The expanded CMS family offers high efficiency (greater than 90%), low output ripple (less than 10mV p/p) and low noise (less than 30Mv p/p). More importantly, Saft Power Systems' new CMS converters offer a range from 15W to 50W to the designer who has the advantage of the right solution to his power density constraints (40% smaller than 8th brick family) and price level (20% cheaper than 8th brick family).

Saft Power Systems' new broad range of CMS products supporting up to 50W power requirements enables the selection of a converter that precisely matches the board's and system's requirements. By not having to design in a higher power converter, users only pay for the exact power output they require and can significantly reduce their products' overall cost and deliver a more competitive product to their price-competitive markets.
