Radius Power Inc. (Orange, CA) announced its new R1005 power supply unit (PSU) that is designed for the latest surround-sound hot tubs and spas. The R1005 is a single 12V output power supply rated at 180W or 350W with power inputs of 120Vac or 240Vac. The unit is ETL certified to meet UL/CSA standards for spa/hot tub usage providing all the power needed for integrated water resistant audio, communication and control equipment.
The R1005 power supply series features a shielded and grounded transformer that reduces or eliminates shock hazards. In addition, the weather-sealed enclosure delivers added protection from the wet, humid environment. The single output is adjustable from 12Vdc to 14Vdc and can be ordered in 180W or 350W versions. The R1005 PSU offers 1% Vp-p at maximum load, +1% line and load regulation, and short-circuit protection. It taps into the spas’ 120Vac or 240Vac input power making it a universal fit for all spa applications.
Available off-the-shelf, the R1005 is priced around $160 in small (25-piece) quantities. Custom modifications and complete assemblies are also available.
