Rack Mount 3-Phase Inverters with 50 Hz, 60Hz, 400 Hz Output

Nova Electric, a division of Technology Dynamics Inc., recently launched the NGLRK series of 3-phase pure sinewave rack mounted inverters capable of delivering up to 7.2kW/9kVA. Standard outputs offered for this unit are 115/200V or 220/380V and frequencies of 50Hz, 60Hz, or 400Hz. The models in this series accept 24Vdc, 36Vdc, 48Vdc, 72Vdc, 120Vdc or 270Vdc. The rack mount model configurations include 1U, 2U, 3U, and 5U.

The NGLRK series inverters are intended for industrial and military applications where dc power needs to be converted to 50 Hz, 60 Hz or 400 Hz, 3Ø. These inverters are used for running electronic loads such as computers, monitors, printers, telecom radios from 24 to 270-Vdc derived from batteries and field generators. They can also be used for hand tools and motors

This rack mount inverter series supports shipboard, military shelters, tactical systems, mobile systems, ground support and communications applications. These models can be further ruggedized for military grade shock, vibration, temperature and humidity. Utilizing field proven technology, this series of rugged pure sinewave DC-AC Inverters is suitable for harsh environments and can be optionally customized for unique sizes and shapes. The output is 4 wire WYE with 3 phases and a neutral line. It can work with totally unbalanced 3-phase loads.

The series has an output Total Harmonic Distortion of 5% maximum, but typically 2%. This unit can supply high peak current to loads with high inrush current at turn-on. The unit features OV, OT and OL protection.

The series contains EMI filtering but for MIL-STD-461 compliance, an external filter will be needed and is available optionally. The unit construction can be ruggedized optionally to meet the requirements of MIL-STD-810 for ground vehicle, below deck shipboard or inhabited airplane.

The size of the models include 1U, 2U, 3U, and 5U with corresponding weight range from 26 to 60 pounds. Cooling is done by internal fans with washable air filter. Delivery is 6-8 weeks and the prices vary depending on the model and options selected as well as level of ruggedization.
