Pulse Intros J0C-0003/4/5/6 Series SMT Connectors

April 25, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Pulse Engineering Inc. (San Diego, CA) introduced its new J0C-0003/4/5/6 Series of 10/100Base-TX, surface-mount (SMT), RJ45 single-port, (1 x 1), tab-down connectors with integrated magnetics. The J0C connector series can withstand the mechanical and thermal stresses of reflow soldering encountered on high-speed, automated, surface-mount production lines, yet they are priced competitively with through-hole connectors.

The J0C connectors feature co-planarity on the SMT pins of less than 0.102 mm (0.004 in), minimizing dry joints after solder reflow and decreasing rework and scrap. Hipot performance complies with the IEEE802.3 standard. The operating temperature range extends from 0 °C to 70 °C. Designed for direct subscriber line asynchronous multiplexing, the J0C Series adds value to small office/home office, LAN on motherboard, hubs, switches, network interface cards, remote device terminals, and remote servers.

The J0C Series connectors are available in tape-and-reel or tray packaging. Prices start at $1.60 per unit for quantities of 10,000. Unit pricing may vary depending on configuration and shipping destination. The lead-time is four to six weeks.
