Power-One Intros New HKS48T30120 IBA Bus Converter

Power-One Inc. (Camarillo, CA) introduced its new 32 A/12 Vdc output HKS48T30120 intermediate bus architecture (IBA) half-brick converter, which combines full regulation with efficiencies up to 94.5%, making it a suitable dc-dc front end to provide power to IBA point-of-load converters.

A single-board design incorporating thermal management techniques facilitates minimal power derating at elevated temperatures, and can provide 21.5 A at 70 °C (200 LFM), for networking, wireless communication and data-processing applications. The HKS48T30120 operates over a wide input range of 35 Vdc to 75 Vdc, and provides output backdrive and pre-bias voltage capabilities, 2,121 Vdc input-to-output isolation, and basic safety insulation rating.

Regulatory agency approvals include UL60950-1, CSA C22.2 No. 60950-1-03, TUV EN60950-1:2001 and IEC60950-1:2001. The HKS48T30120 measures 2.40 in x 2.28 in x 0.50 in (61.0 mm x 57.9 mm x 12.7 mm).
