Power-One Debuts MPU200-1048 AC-DC Power Supply

Power-One Inc. (Camarillo, CA) introduced its new MPU200-1048 ac-dc power supply, which provides a 4.2 A, 48 Vdc output. The 200 W product has a field mean time between failure in excess of 1,000,000 hours, based on data compiled from an installed base of over 500,000 similar MPU Series products, making it a suitable high-reliability power source for telecom, datacom, medical and industrial applications.

Standard features include power-factor correction, 85 Vac to 264 Vac input range, and active current sharing with N+1 redundancy. An internal isolation diode is optional. The MPU200-1048 comes in a compact 8.00 in x 4.20 in x 1.50 in (203.2 mm x 106.7 mm x 38.1 mm) package that fits inside a 1U chassis height. A dc-input version is also available in this same exact form factor.

Interface signals include remote sense, output good, input power fail warning and global inhibit. Internal protections are provided for over-temperature, over-current and over-voltage. On-board EMI filtering provides Class B compliance to FCC CFR Title 47, Part 15, Sub-Part B - conducted; and EN55022/CISPR 22 conducted. Regulatory agency certifications include UL recognition to UL60950/CSA 22.2 No. 60950-00 and TUV approval to EN60950-1.

Pricing for the MPU200-1048 is $185 for 250-piece quantities. Evaluation units are usually available from stock. Production quantities are typically available in 6 to 10 weeks.
