Power-One Inc. (Camarillo, CA) introduced its new FXP7000-48 ac/dc front-end power supply, which is designed for distributed power architectures and accepts common input voltages from 200Vac to 480Vac and provides up to 7,000W of 48Vdc output from a rear-mounted, hot-plug, floating connector. Providing a power density of 10.9W/in³ from a 5in x 8in x 16.1in package, up to 30 of the supplies can be connected in parallel to provide up to 210kW.

In addition to accepting three-phase, ac input, the FXP7000 has an array of key features that include being suitable for 3U or 5U mounting; LED supply status indicators; single-wire or droop-current sharing; remote voltage adjustment and monitoring; and protection against input transients, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature. Safety agency approvals include UL60950, CSA 22.2 No. 60950-00 and EN60950 (TUV).

Single-piece pricing for the FXP7000-48 is $3563. Evaluation units are usually available in two weeks. Production quantities are typically available in 4 to 12 weeks.
