Potrans Debuts 1U Switching Power Supply Line

November 28, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Potrans Electrical Corp. (Irvine, CA) introduced its multiple-output 1U line of 90W (PU-090A), 180W (PU-180A) and 200W (PU-200A) switching power supplies. Designed for networking and telecommunications applications, the line features power-factor correction and complies with remote on/off.

The power supplies measure 1.5in high and the universal input 1U rack products offer four (in 90W) to five (in 180W and 200W) outputs, offering +3.3V, +5V, -5V, +12V and –12V. A 5V standby output is available to provide up to 2A to logic boards and other circuitry.

Standard features include over-voltage, over-power and short-circuit protection; thermal shutdown; and power-fail and power-good signals. The supplies operate at over 0 to 45 degrees C. Hold-up time is more than 16mS at full load, nominal line. Rise time is less than 100mS at full load, nominal line. Typical efficiency is 65 percent. The line comes with all major safety and performance standards worldwide and is available now.
