Positron Debuts 751324 CLEI: NPPSFGBBAA Power Supply

February 25, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Positron Industries Inc. (Montreal Quebec) announced its new +24Vdc to –24Vdc plug-in power supply card, the 751324 CLEI: NPPSFGBBAA. The new power supply will supply power at –24Vdc to five and eight card shelves and is suitable for cellular installers where the standard battery available is +24Vdc.

The new power supply features operation from 24Vdc, either floating or referenced to the ground; thermal protection in case of overloading (the card will stop when too high a temperature is reached and will restart once it cools off); redundancy if two are connected in the shelf (if one card fails the other card takes over the full load); and a “power-in” LED and a “power-out” LED allowing easy assessment of power supply functionality.

The power supply has an operating temperature range of –20 to +65 degrees C, weighs 0.984kg, and measures 6.375in x 1.5in x 8.0in. It features an efficiency of 80 percent, load regulation better than 1 percent, line regulation better than 0.2 percent, an input/output of 1.5kV, a maximum power output of 68W, and power dissipation of 25 percent of power to the load or 20 percent of the input power.
