Phihong’s PoE Splitter Delivers Up To 14 Watts
Phihong has developed a 14W dc-dc Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) splitter for both high power needs and 12.5W from standard IEEE-802.3af power sourcing equipment (PSE). Designated the PSD14 Series, the splitter is a power supply that is designed to be mounted right next to an Ethernet device, and is fully compliant with IEEE-802.3af standards.
"The PSD14 splitter features an LED indicator that signals whether the device is working properly or not," said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong USA. "The splitter works from either data or spare PSEs and is gigabit-compatible, making it suitable for almost any application."
Typical applications for the PSD14 Series device include IP telephones, wireless network access points, Bluetooth® access points, security cameras, and IP print servers.
Available in a non-vented case with 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T, and 1000BASE-T data rates and a UNH IOL test report, the PoE splitter features an input voltage range of 36Vdc to 56 Vdc (55-57V for high power output). Output voltage models include 12V, 5V or 3.3V. The device also has full over-temperature, over-current, and over-voltage protection. The splitter is isolated from 48Vdc and has cUL/UL and CE safety approvals.
The dc-dc PoE splitter is 3.7 inches x 2.0 inches x 1.2 inches, and it weighs 0.22 pounds. Single-piece pricing for the PSD14 Series splitter is $29.95. Lead time is from stock to eight weeks.
