Phihong Unveils New PSM275 Power Supply

June 20, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Phihong (Fremont, CA) unveiled its new PSM275 275 W power supply with integrated 24-port Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) injection specifically for switch and PBX applications. Providing 12 Vdc output voltage for switch and 50 Vdc output voltage per port in PoE, the PSM275-909 can implement eight-ports to 24-ports in a PoE system, making it suitable for applications such as 10/100 Base T Ethernet switches, security systems, VoIP phone systems and blade servers.

The PSM275 can be powered from either a wide-range 90 Vac to 265 Vac input or a single 44 Vdc to 57 Vdc input. With an external isolation diode, the power supply can be operated in redundant ac or dc configuration. It offers an output of 200 W for PoE, and 75 W for 12 V switches. With dc input, the product can supply up to a full 375 W, or 15.4 W per port, of PoE.

The PSM275 has internal power management with programmable port control, power limiting and port prioritization. An RS232 port allows the user to control and monitor operation. Phihong also provides a free Windows GUI for local diagnostics and troubleshooting. Features include power-factor correction and full compliance to European and US EMC requirements, all in a 1U size. The product is safety-approved for cUL 60950-1 and TUV EN60950.

Pricing for the PSA275-901 is $95 in OEM quantities.
