ON Semiconductor Introduces New MiniGate Family of Analog Switches

August 13, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

ON Semiconductor (Phoenix, AZ) announced the new MiniGate family, eight new high-performance analog switches; four single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) devices housed in tiny industry-standard TSOP-6 and SC-70/SC88 packages; and four dual-DPDT devices offered in either the Quad Flat No-lead (QFN-16) package or the TSSOP-16 package.

The MiniGate Series of advanced switches achieve high-speed propagation delays and low RDS(on) resistances while maintaining extremely low power dissipation.

The MiniGAte Series are ideally suited for applications such as cell phones, wireless consumer products, audio/video signal routing, portable computing, low-voltage data acquisition and applications where low-voltage, low-power dissipation and extended battery life are necessary.

The eight devices are fabricated in 0.6-micron silicon-gate CMOS technology offering single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) and dual double-pole, and double-throw (DPDT) switch options. These high-performance ICs put as many as 16 individual 10-ohm switches in a 9mm2 area of board space, and are designed with a useable frequency response of more than 150MHz.

The NLAS4599 and the NLAST4599 SPDT devices are available in either the SC70/SC88 or the TSOP-6 packages for the suggested retail price of $0.40 for 10,000-unit quantities. The NLAS44599 and NLAST44599 advanced CMOS dual-DPDT devices in the QFN-16 and the TSSOP-16 packages are available for the suggested retail price of $0.85 for 10,000-unit quantities.
