Gresham Unveils New Wide Input Range 200W Power Supply for Outdoor Event and Broadcast Systems

Gresham Power Electronics announced the introduction of the PS200-48-32-GR wide input range ac-dc single output power supply designed for use in outdoor lighting and sound control systems. The input range of 90-288Vac is designed to be used from ac power available from stadium and outdoor power sources. The single output is customer selectable between 32V and 48Vdc at 200W.

Jake Moir, Managing Director of Gresham Power, commented, "With the growth of outside broadcast, music and similar events we have found a growing market for a power supply with a wide input range. In the USA such events frequently take power from street lighting which may be up to 277 volts and which would stress conventional switch mode power supplies reducing their reliability or in the worst case causing them to fail immediately. Our new 200 watt power supply is not only designed to accommodate a very wide input range but also allows the user to select their required output voltage, simplifying the end system design process and reducing inventory."

The Gresham Power PS200-48-32-GR has a typical efficiency of 86% at 230Vac and full load, power factor of 0.90 typical at 230Vac, has a hold-up time of 16ms minimum; is brown out, over voltage, over current and over temperature protected, has an operating temperature range from -5 to +50°C with optional -40°C version exterior range available on request.

The power supply has dimensions of 27 x 84 x 38mm (3.3 x 5.0 x 1.5") and weighs 700gm max (26oz). The unit meets FCC CLASS B, CISPR 22 CLASS B, EN55022 CLASS B with external line filter, meets all international safety agency approvals, is CE Marked and has an expected MTBF greater than 300,000 hours per BELCOR 332,issue 6 specification @ 30°C.
