February 14, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Endicott Research Group (Endicott, NY) announced its new 8D Class low-profile (dc/ac) inverters designed for LCD modules backlit by a single cold-cathode fluorescent lamp or tube. Designed to power backlit LCDs spanning 4in to 12in on the diagonal, the 8D offers flexible delivery schedules to mesh with production schedules.

The high-efficiency inverter, at 8mm high, has on-board pulse-width-modulation dimming with analog control, up to 5W output, and integrated input and output connectors. I/O wiring harnesses are also available. The inverter operates at 0 to 70 degrees C.

The new 8D Class of dc/ac inverters is priced at $13.69 each in lots of 1,000, with delivery typically four weeks ARO.
