Emerson Announces Parallel POD To Boost Flexibility Of Liebert GXT2 UPS

New Products Aug 19, 2008 by Jeff Shepard

Emerson Network Power introduced a new parallel POD for the Liebert GXT2 10 kVA UPS, providing adaptable power capacity and increased redundancy to support critical applications housed in small and mid-sized IT spaces.

The parallel POD enables connection of up to three Liebert GXT2 10 kVA units. By paralleling the units together, users can add 10 kVA of capacity and 10 kVA for redundancy, allowing multiple units to work together to deliver 16,000W of protection for high-density racks and enabling redundant operation.

"Businesses of all sizes increasingly rely on IT systems for essential revenue-generating activities such as IP telephony," said John Page, Product Manager, Emerson Network Power’s AC Power business. "The parallel POD works with the Liebert GXT2 10 kVA UPS to provide the flexibility to react quickly to changing business demands and the peace of mind that comes with knowing your network has reliable power protection."

Depending on the configuration, the parallel POD works with two or three Liebert GXT2 10 kVA units, with each Liebert GXT2 supporting a share of the load. These units deliver on-line double-conversion UPS protection and can be serviced and maintained without shutting down the load. The Liebert GXT2 UPS, batteries and parallel POD are all rackmountable in standard IT industry racks.
