EiC Launches ECM007/ECM009 Power Amplifiers
EiC Corp. (Fremont, CA) launched a family of power amplifier modules, which include the ECM007 and ECM009 models, for GSM and GPRS cellular applications. Both can extend transmission performance to fully rated GPRS Class 12 from the Class 8 and Class 10 transmission found in today's cellular phone handsets.
The amplifiers are designed for use as RF transmitter amplifiers in triple-band GSM, DCS and PCS hand-held digital communication equipment such as cellular phones, PDAs, wireless modems and other applications in the 880MHz to 915MHz, 1.71GHz to 1.785GHz and 1.85GHz to 1.91GHz bands. The modules integrate a proprietary RF IC and passive components to achieve a 50 Ohm impedance matching.
The RF IC is manufactured using the company's InGaP GaAs HBT process technology. The ECM007 is offered in an industry-standard 9mm x 11mm LCC package. The ECM009 comes in a 6mm x 6mm LCC. The small size offers increased flexibility in designing features and integrating functionality into smaller handsets.
