Digital Power Shelf Delivers up to 14.4kW
Bel Fuse Inc. announced the expansion of Bel Power Solutions' power shelf portfolio to include the SPSPFE3 power shelves suitable for a wide range of telecom, networking and datacenter applications. The SPSPFE3 power shelves are designed to minimize installation and maintenance time with easy access hot-swap insertion to allow power supply unit replacement under live power operation while providing rectification, system management and power distribution together with maintaining high reliability and offering flexibility for future expansion.
The SPSPFE3 is 1U high power shelf and can be configured with up to six hot-swap capable. PFE3000-12-069RA ac-dc power supply units that convert three-phase ac mains power into a main output of 12Vdc for powering intermediate bus architectures (IBA) in high performance and reliability servers, routers, and network switches.
There are three versions of power shelf available targeting both EU and US market: EU: SPSPFE3-02G: 3-phase 400/480 Vac line to line input with Neutral line; US: SPSPFE3-03G: 3-phase 208 Vac line to line input, without Neutral line; and EU: SPSPFE3-04G: 3-phase, 400 Vac line to line input with Neutral line. The power shelf supports up to 6 high-power modules in either 3+3 (8700W) or 5+1 (14400W) redundant operation.
The 12Vdc output is made available at the rear panel of the shelf with three sets of busbar blades for SPSPFE3-02G and SPSPFE3-03G models and one set of busbar blades for SPSPFE3-04G model. With dimensions of 436 x 46.5 x 650 mm the shelf can be mounted to a 19- or 21-inch wide rack system using adaptor mounting brackets and is compatible with the Open Compute rack design.
The I2C communication to the PSU is routed through an I2C Multiplexer. All power supply units are interconnected within the shelf and fed to the signal connector supporting I2C communication interface for control, programming and monitoring with PMBusâ„¢ protocol.
RoHS compliant, the power shelf is safety agency certified per UL/CSA 60950-1 and meets the requirements of EN60950-1. It further meets the conducted and radiated EMI requirements of EN55022-A.
