Digital Power 350W Switcher Targeted for IBA Applications

March 19, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

Digital Power has added the eF350 series, high density switch mode power supplies that deliver both single and quad outputs up to 350 watts in the industry standard 3.8in x 6.8in x 1.4in U-frame package.

The eF350 utilizes synchronous rectification (on low voltage outputs from 1.8~12Vdc) with a fixed switching frequency of 100kHz to gain a power density exceeding 9W/in3. The supplies feature universal input (85 to 264Vac) with active power factor correction (EN61000-3-2 Class D compliant) and protection against over temperature, over current and over voltage conditions.

Selected models are available with a 48 Vdc input range (36~75 Vdc) for telecommunications applications. Standard features include: remote inhibit, power good, remote sense, current-share and internal OR'ing function for parallel-redundant operation. All models are CE marked and certified to EN60950, UL60950 and meet EN55022 class B emissions.

The eF350 Single Output models offer output voltages of 5, 12, 15, 24, 28, and 48 Vdc and are designed for intermediate bus architecture (IBA) applications and with an MTBF of >300k hours, they also work well for industrial and military COTS applications.

"The 1U chassis height and compact dimensions of the EF350 will release valuable space for our customer's circuitry, improving the value of our customers systems" says Jonathan Wax, President of Digital Power. "The eF350 series is an exciting extension to our high power density product range. We are proud to deliver the most power from the smallest footprints available in the industry."
