April 17, 2011 by Jeff Shepard

CyberPower Systems announced the addition of 26 new Rackbar surge suppression units to its expansive lineup of Power Distribution Units (PDUs). Designed and rigorously tested to distribute electrical power to multiple connected devices, including networks, servers, workstations and telecom systems, Rackbar units supply surge protection as well as power distribution where battery backup is not part of the rack installation.

CyberPower’s new Rackbar surge suppressors provide high-level protection: 3600 Joules on its 15A models and 1800 Joules on the 20A models. Multiple plug options, including NEMA 5-15P, NEMA 5-20P, and NEMA L5-20P, as well as numerous arrangements of front and back outlets, make up the 26 model Rackbar line.

"Rackbar exemplifies our commitment to building the most comprehensive line of power protection products available," said Tim Derochie, CyberPower’s Director of Product Management. "The Rackbar surge suppressors perfectly match the specific needs of IT managers in size, configuration and capacity, while offering the flexibility they want to safely configure rack-mounted power protection for network equipment and applications."

Rackbar surge suppressors are well-suited for demanding industrial, manufacturing, fabricating/mechanical installations and many other applications, designed with rugged industrial grade metal housing in a 1U form factor and providing flexible 1U, 0U or wall mounting options. For added safety and reliability, Rackbar units are always on – with no power switch, there’s no chance of accidental shut-off. All models in the CyberPower Rackbar products are backed by a lifetime warranty, ensuring years of dependable performance.

CyberPower Rackbar models are ETL certified and 100% RoHS compliant. RoHS aims to improve environmental conditions worldwide by strictly limiting the use of six hazardous substances: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) CyberPower manufactures an extensive line of environmentally-friendly, RoHS-compliant power protection products.
