Cyberex Announces New Type III DSTS

Cyberex LLC (Highland Heights, OH) announced its new Type III digital static transfer switch (DSTS), which provides instantaneous power transfers between two or more ac power sources, ensuring continuous power to critical loads.

The DSTS uses enhanced, oversized silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCRs) that will continue to conduct fault-current, permitting downstream protection equipment to operate. After a fault, the DSTS will maintain complete integrity of fault coordination because the SCRs will not short or interrupt the current.
