Clip-mounted Heatsinks for Vertical or Horizontal Orientations

Alpha Novatech, Inc. has expanded its wide range of off-the-shelf products to meet customer requirements. The company has added a UBZ and ZZ series to its standard catalog to support increasing requests for heat sinks mounted with Z-Clip and QSZ-Clip. The UBZ series is designed for use with 0.55mm elliptical fins. It offers low pressure drop and low thermal resistance and is suitable for low profile passive cooling. The ZZ series features a 0.35mm fin thickness. It offers low thermal resistance and is also suitable for low profile passive cooling.

The UBZ series is offered with base sizes of 40, 45, 50, 54, and 60 square mm and the height varies depending on the base size. The ZZ series is also offered in base sizes of 40, 45, 50, 54, and 60 square mm and is offered with heights of 6.3, 9.5, 12.7 mm.

Many of the company’s standard UB and Z series heat sinks cannot be attached with clips. This is either due to fin pitch, fin count, or an incompatible clip orientation and fin pattern. The new UBZ and ZZ series heat sinks have been designed specifically for clips in both vertical and horizontal directions.
