Cherokee Intros DPS2000 AC-DC Front-End Power Supply

Cherokee International LLC (Tustin, CA), a manufacturer of switch-mode power supplies, announced its new DPS2000 ac-dc front-end power supply, which offers 2U, 48 V for high-end blade servers, storage and network equipment using distributed power architectures. To meet next-generation infrastructure requirements, the DPS2000 provides 60% more power over the prior 1,200 W DPS model, and delivers 1,000 W at low-line 110 Vac.

The 2,000 W solution adheres to the server system infrastructure guidelines; turns out 13 W/in³; and features active current sharing, hot-swap capabilities, N+1 redundancy and an I2C interface. The DPS2000 meets strict EMI Class B regulations and measures 4.86 in x 2.74 in x 12.80 in. The DPS2000 is power-factor corrected and boasts an efficiency of 87% at full load, protects against over-temperature conditions, and does not have a pre-load requirement.

The DPS2000 is available now at $299 for OEM quantities.
