CDI Introduces New Series of Medically Approved Single Output Power Supplies

New Products Jun 10, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Conversion Devices, Inc. (CDI) introduced the SMD750 series of single output medical power supplies, which the company claims offer a high-quality power source for the most demanding medical system applications. The SMD750 series features power factor correction (PFC) and a wide input voltage range of 90-264Vac operation for use in medical devices worldwide. The company states that the series has been designed with conservative de-rating and design margins to ensure reliable operation in the most demanding medical device environment.

The self-cooled SMD750 single-output power supply is available with any output voltage range from 3.3 to 56V in 0.1V increments. The power supply delivers 750W of continuous output power at 0 to 50°C operating temperature. The devices have a compact footprint (a mere 5.0" W x 8.5" L x 2.8" H), and provide over 6.3W per cubic inch power density. Remote sense, ac power fail, dc ok and remote on/off signals are standard.

The SMD750 is priced at $699.00 in 100 piece quantities. Sample quantities are available in 8 weeks subject to output voltage selection.
