Benning Power Unveils Power Line 400 UPS System
Benning Power Electronics Ltd. (UK) launched its new Power Line (PL400) UPS system, which is suitable for loads from 60kVA to 200kVA loads for a single UPS unit. The combination of the 16-bit micro-controller and power electronic control and monitoring design allow access to all of the UPS functions. The PL400 is a true on-line UPS with double-voltage conversion and constant voltage/frequency output. In the event of a mains failure, the power is supplied uninterrupted by the battery without a break in the output of the UPS.
The PL400 uses IGBT power semiconductors and rectifiers and inverter technology. The PL400 operates without any mains feedback and does not draw any reactive power from the mains, providing cost-savings by removing utility charges for reactive power. Individual units may be connected in parallel with no external control. The system provides the option for up to eight units to be connected in parallel so that the power supply may grow with requirements (up to 500kVA). The cabinets can be easily configured and require no special cables for parallel operation.
