Bel Fuse Intros S558-5999-Z3/Z4 Transformer Modules

Bel Fuse Inc. (Jersey City, NJ) has released a two-member (S558-5999-Z3 and S558-5999-Z4) family of surface-mount magnetic transformer modules conforming to IEEE 802.3u standards. Offering an extended operating temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees C, the devices are designed to interface with all major IC manufacturers' transceiver ICs, and to support operation over unshielded twisted pair cabling.

Designed for central office equipment and customer premise equipment, the transformers are widely specified for use in multi-port applications in environments where extreme temperatures often jeopardize the reliability of communication networks. The devices are suitable for maximizing PC board layouts and providing optimal per-port costs in stackable and modular 10/100Base-TX Ethernet switches, hubs and routers. The transformers feature low-profile, small footprint, 40-pin packages that can withstand 225 degrees C IR reflow soldering and are compatible with standard pick-and-place machines.
