AVX Offers New W2H/W3H Series EMI Filters

August 21, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

AVX Corp. (Myrtle Beach, SC) announced a new series of miniature ceramic chip components, the W2H/W3H Series, which combines capacitor and inductor elements in a single distributed constant circuit filter. The surface-mountable chip filters are the latest addition to AVX’s series of integrated passive components for EMI noise suppression in high-speed applications. The filters are suitable for EMI noise suppression, broadband I/O filtering, Vcc power line conditioning, power amplifier decoupling, dc/dc converters, power supervisory circuits, telecom, LCD displays and charge pump converters.

Offered in 0805 and 0612 case sizes, the W2H/W3H Series of EMI filters are available in voltage ratings of 25V, 50V and 100V with capacitance ratings ranging from 22pF to 100,000pF. Featuring capacitance tolerances of +50%/-20%, the filters feature dc resistance ratings of <0.15ohms. Current ratings range from 0.5A to 5A. Available in NP0 and X7R dielectrics, the filters feature a standard operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. The EMI filters are available in standard tape-and-reel packaging.

Typical pricing for the W2H/W3H Series EMI noise filters is less than $0.10 each in OEM quantities, with lead times from stock to six weeks. Sample kits are also available.
