Asian Power Unveils CP40-xx Series Power Supplies

January 28, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Asian Power Devices Inc. (Taiwan) announced the CP40-xx Series of open-frame switching power supplies that provide a single 40W output, operate from wide voltage and temperature ranges, and feature output-voltage adjustment. The new supplies offer built-in short-circuit and over-voltage protection functions that meet UL 1950, 3rd edition, CUL and CE Mark safety standards.

The power supplies function via input voltages ranging from 85Vac to 264Vac at 47Hz to 63Hz. The input current is 0.8A (maximum) at 115Vac and 0.45A (maximum) at 230Vac. Efficiency ratings range from 70 percent to 80 percent. The devices handle an inrush current of up to 60A at 230Vac full-load. I/O isolation voltage is 2kVac. Line regulation is ±1 percent, and load regulation is ±5 percent. The products operate at 0 to 50 degrees C at full load, or from 0 to 65 degrees C at 70 percent of the rated load. Case dimensions measure 122mm x 79mm x 33mm. The switching power supplies weigh 300g.
