AnalogicTech Unveils AAT3242 LDO Regulator

New Products Jul 21, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Advanced Analogic Technologies Inc. (AnalogicTech, Sunnyvale, CA), a developer of power management solutions, introduced its new AAT3242 dual low dropout (LDO) linear regulator, which offers the functionality of two LDOs (one at 300 mA and a second at 150 mA) in a single 12-pin, 3 mm x 2.85 mm, TSOPJW package. Designed for portable products needing higher levels of integration, the AAT3242 features two completely independent power-OK outputs.

The two power-OK pins on the AAT3242 provide open-drain output signals when the respective regulator output is within regulation. Independent input voltage and enable pins maximize design flexibility. A low 140 µA quiescent current and low dropout voltages (400 mV at 300 mA and 200 mV at 150 mA) help extend battery life. The AAT3242 provides an output-voltage accuracy of ±1.5% and a power supply rejection ratio of 65 dB at 1 kHz. The dual LDO also features complete over-current and short-circuit protection. In addition, over-temperature circuits protect the device in extreme environments.

Available in a 12-pin, TSOPJW package, the AAT3242 is qualified over a -40 °C to +85 °C temperature range. Pricing starts at $0.76 each for 1,000-piece quantities.
