Anadigics Debuts AWT6123 Power Amplifier Module

Anadigics Inc. (Warren, NJ) introduced the new AWT6123 quad-band, power amplifier (PA) module that measures 6mm x 8mm and provides a typical efficiency of 55 percent in the GSM850/EGSM900 bands and 50 percent in the DCS/PCS bands. Manufactured using the company's InGaP HBT technology, the PA operates from a single 3.5V supply and provides 35dBm GSM output power, as well as 32.5dB, DCS/PCS output power.

The company has also introduced the AWT6108 PA module for GSM/GPRS handsets that provides integrated power control in a 7mm x 10mm package. By integrating CMOS power control, the device eliminates the need for couplers and other power control circuitry, reducing component count, simplifying handset design and improving overall system efficiency.

In quantities of 10,000 units, the AWT6123 is priced at $2.50 and the AWT6108 is priced at $2.95.
