Amphenol Announces New Amphe-Armor Over-Molded Rugged Circular Connector Series

October 31, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Amphenol Industrial introduced its new over-molded Amphe-Armor circular connector series, which is described as featuring superior durability and water tight construction to withstand the harshest environments and demanding applications.

The field-installable, field-repairable Amphe-Armor series, currently available in a variety of shell sizes and contacts with either a PT or a GT insert option, is suitable for a multitude of applications. These range from geophysical, machine tool, railway and motor control environments to energy control systems, meteorology and sewage treatment.

In addition to the rugged, over-molded housing, constructed of high-impact glass-filled thermoplastic, these IP67-rated connectors feature a solder wire termination and heavy-duty coupling nut. The Amphe-Armor series operates in a temperature range from -55 to +125°C.

Amphenol’s PT miniature bayonet connectors offer twice the number of contacts in just half the size of a standard connector. GT reverse bayonet coupling connectors have an audible and tactile full mating feature for positive coupling assurance.

The GT versions are also available as Amphe-PowerT connectors with RADSOK® technology that can handle up to 50% higher amperages than MS-standard products, or from 50A to over 1,000A of continuous duty.

Pricing for the Amphe-Armor series starts at $55 per unit. Delivery is two to four weeks ARO.
