Advanced Power Technology Unveils DQ Series FREDs

Advanced Power Technology Inc. (APT, Bend, OR) announced its new next-generation DQ Series of fast recovery epitaxial diodes (FREDs), which consists of 600 V, 1,000 V and 1,200 V devices, ranging in current from 8 A to 100 A, as die or in packages from TO-220’s up to SOT-227’s. The DQ FREDs are designed for use in switch-mode power supplies, uninterruptible power supplies, motor drives and welders. The diodes can be used as snubber diodes, hard-switched power-factor correction boost diodes and free-wheeling diodes.

The 600 V DQ FREDs feature soft recovery, high speed, avalanche energy rating for high reliability, low leakage, platinum doping, and rating to 175 °C maximum junction temperature.
