Absopulse Encapsulated Power Supply With PFC-Input Delivers 300W In Heavy Duty Applications

New Products Oct 30, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Absopulse Electronics announced its PPF 300 series rugged power supply with power factor corrected (PFC) input designed for operation in extreme environments. This 300W unit delivers single outputs of 12, 24, 36, 48 or 72Vdc and has a 95 to 264Vac (47 - 420Hz) universal input. The power factor is corrected to a minimum of 0.97 at full load for the entire input range. Other input and output voltages as well as a built-in redundancy diode are available on request.

Full encapsulation in a thermally conductive MIL-spec. silicon rubber compound ensures immunity to shock, vibration, humidity, moisture, salt and airborne contaminants. Conduction cooled via a base plate, the unit is capable of operating in temperatures of up to 70°C, cold plate. The unit is housed in a 5.15 x 9.13 x 3" enclosure.

The PPF 300 is fully protected electronically against over-current and short circuit conditions. It meets EN6100-3-2 requirements for low input harmonic distortion mandated for European markets. It is filtered on the input and output to meet EN55022 Class A EMI as a minimum. The unit is designed to meet international safety approvals including EN 60950 and related standards.

The PPF 300 is priced at US$450 at quantities of 100.
