Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) announced that its offer to exchange its shares for Siliconix Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) shares expired July 5, 2001, without the acceptance. It was a condition of the offer that there be a majority of Siliconix shares not already owned by Vishay. This condition was not met.
According to the American Stock Transfer and Trust Co. (New York, NY), the exchange agent for the offer, 2.34 Siliconix shares were tendered, constituting 40 percent of the shares not owned by Vishay.
