October 13, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Tyco Electronics Power Systems Inc. (Dallas, TX) announced the new GALAXY Manager™ 1.0 software, which is the central component of a comprehensive monitoring and control system designed to meet power plant engineering, operations and maintenance needs. Through a centralized server on an Intranet or Internet network, the GALAXY Manager software provides access to real-time data from plant controllers across a regional power network.

The GALAXY Manager software provides remote surveillance capabilities by assessing power plant health, performance measurements and configuration management from multiple plants through a single website. Data is customized for each application and displayed in an intuitive Microsoft Windows-based graphical user interface. The software also offers multi-level secured access to each device, including rectifiers, controllers, batteries, generators, ac/dc distribution, secondary distribution and site peripherals.
