June 19, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Sustainable Energy Technologies Ltd. (Calgary, Alberta, Canada), a developer of power electronics for renewable energy applications, and Gabriel Benmayor SA jointly announced that Free Power SL (Barcelona, Spain), a distributor of solar power systems, will source all its solar photovoltaic inverter needs for the Spanish market from Sustainable and Gabriel Benmayor. Initial forecasts are for 500 units with a market value of approximately $1.8 million, with the potential for up to 1,000 units (a potential market value of approximately $3.6 million) over the next 12 to 15 months from the same customer.

The 5 kW inverters will be manufactured in Barcelona under a previously announced partnership between Gabriel Benmayor and Sustainable. The initial 500 units are for solar photovoltaic systems marketed by Free Power, for which Free Power has an assured supply of solar photovoltaic modules. Free Power will also be distributing SUNERGY inverters to installers throughout Spain.
