STMicroelectronics Receives Award from EC

STMicroelectronics Inc. (ST, Geneva, Switzerland) has been awarded the Best Industrial Renewable Energy Partnership as part of the European Commission's (EC) Campaign for Take-Off for Renewable Energy Awards 2003. ST received the prize for its program to achieve an objective of 15% of renewable energy sources by 2010.

Georges Auguste, corporate vice president, director of total quality and environmental management at STMicroelectronics, said, "This is a huge tribute to the persistent and dedicated effort undertaken within our organization towards a sustainable future for our society. As a company deeply committed to social and environmental awareness, we recognize the crucial role that renewable energy has to play in minimizing environmental damage and climate change. We fully support the European Commission's renewable energy initiatives and will continue to actively participate in future campaigns."
