Simplis Technologies Formed To Advance SIMPLIS Simulation Engine

March 04, 2008 by Jeff Shepard

Simplis Technologies Inc. announced its incorporation and its intent to assume all commercial and product development responsibility for the SIMPLIS simulation engine. The new company aims to accelerate the development and growth of this design tool for the power electronics industry.

Simplis Technologies, an Oregon company, is establishing multi-year agreements with Catena UK and Transim Technology Corp., both of which use the SIMPLIS simulation engine in their respective product lines. Transim has successfully integrated into its web-based design centers through which thousands of design engineers have used the engine in their design process. It is claimed that the combination of Catena’s SIMetrix SPICE product and SIMPLIS, bundled together in the SIMetrix/SIMPLIS software suite, presently offers the most efficient design analysis tool on the market for power electronics applications.

Tom Wilson, President of Simplis Technologies, stated, "I am excited about the opportunities in front of us and the direction we are moving with this product line. We are rapidly becoming the standard for simulation in the power electronics industry. This move will allow us to enhance our focus and to execute our strategies more quickly."

Ron Wong, original developer of the SIMPLIS simulation engine and Principal Engineer for Simplis Technologies, added, "With the problems facing designers of electronic power supplies today, SIMPLIS is more revelant than ever. Our current work in the development of new capabilities for digital power supplies will further strengthen our leadership in this industry."
