Silicon Laboratories Names New Managing Director of Asia Operations

Silicon Laboratories Inc. announced the appointment of Chee-Keong Tan to the position of managing director of the company's Asia operations – a vital region for Silicon Laboratories, representing the majority of the company's sales. Tan brings more than 18 years of technical and operations management experience to the role and this expertise will allow the company to continue to effectively support operations throughout the region.

Prior to joining Silicon Laboratories, Tan held various leadership positions at United Test and Assembly Center Ltd. (UTAC), including serving as the group senior vice president of worldwide strategic test, engineering/development and supply management. In these capacities, he established several significant growth initiatives and oversaw the expansion of the mixed-signal operational group at UTAC. Before joining UTAC, Tan was vice president of strategic test development at ST Assembly & Test Services Ltd., where he developed and then expanded the test business strategy. Tan earned a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering from the University of London with Honors.
