Rutronik and KEMET Strike Global Partnership Deal
Rutronik and KEMET Corporation sign a distribution agreement centered on electronic passive components.
Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH is a leading global broadline distributor and offers its customers electronic components ranging from storage technologies, embedded boards, displays and wireless products, passive and electromechanical components, to semiconductors. Rutronik also provides its customers with consulting services for technical, logistical, and commercial matters.
Recently, a global distribution agreement between Rutronik and electronic component manufacturing company KEMET Corporation was signed. KEMET is a part of the YAGEO Group and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of YAGEO Corporation.

KEMET
KEMET is a supplier of a broad collection of capacitor technologies and exhibits a growing portfolio of electromechanical devices and electromagnetic compatibility solutions. In June 2020, YAGEO Corporation acquired KEMET. The result of this acquisition generated a combined organization that aims to be a world-leading developer and supplier of electronic passive components.

KEMET provides products and solutions for Aerospace and Defence, Automotive, Industrial, Computing, Consumer, Telecommunications, Medical, and Industrial applications. The company holds over 1,600 patents and trademarks worldwide, and ships over 50 billion components per year to 180,000 customers around the globe.
The Partnership
The deal between Rutronik and KEMET involves the agreed distribution of KEMET’s broad product portfolio encompassing multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), tantalum, film, and electrolytic capacitors, as well as inductors, varistors, and sensors. The idea is that Rutronik will be able to expand its influence within the passive components market through KEMET’s product offerings in this area. Through Rutronik, KEMET will be able to reach and grow a wider network of customers looking to employ passive component technologies and solutions for a variety of applications.
In a recent press release, Head of Global Distribution at YAGEO Group, Dr. Johnny Boan, said: “We help drive innovation piece by piece.” Boan added: “The integration of KEMET and Pulse into our global partnership with Rutronik is an essential step to capture the opportunities in next-generation electronic applications, in the areas of autonomous driving, 5G devices, SiC power modules, and edge computing.
