RF Micro Devices Inc. (RFMD, Greensboro, NC), a provider of proprietary radio frequency integrated circuits for wireless communications applications, announced that ALLTEL Corp. Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Jeffery Gardner has been elected to the board of directors. Gardner was elected as a new director at a November 2, 2004, board meeting and his appointment to the board is effective immediately.
