September 01, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Power Paper Ltd. (Tel Aviv, Israel), a provider of thin and flexible micro-power source technology and devices, and KSW Microtec AG, a leading provider of low-cost, advanced electronic packaging technologies for radio frequency identification (RFID) and smart card solutions, announced that it has broadened its strategic relationship to leverage the growing demand for thin and flexible, environment-friendly batteries in smart active labels.

As part of the agreement, KSW Microtec will receive a non-exclusive, worldwide license to manufacture and distribute Power Paper’s batteries for smart active RFID label products. The two companies have collaborated since 2000, and KSW Microtec was the first authorized manufacturer of Power Paper’s batteries on KSW’s roll-to-roll production lines, able to produce hundreds of millions of thin and flexible, environment-friendly energy cells per year.
