Power-One and Silicon Labs Agree to Resolve Litigation

Power-One, Inc. and Silicon Laboratories Inc. jointly announced that they have entered into an agreement to settle and resolve the patent infringement lawsuit filed by Power-One on December 14, 2005 against Silicon Laboratories.

As part of the agreement, Silicon Laboratories will join the Z-One™ Digital Power Alliance, and the parties will commence immediate joint development actions for Z-One compliant products, initially focusing on the Silicon Laboratories Si825X digital power controller and the Power-One ZM730X family of digital power manager products. Power-One will offer licenses to Silicon Laboratories customers using the Z-One compliant interface. Power-One is not providing any intellectual property licenses to Silicon Laboratories as part of this agreement.

William T. Yeates, Chief Executive Officer of Power-One, commented, "We are delighted that we have reached this mutually beneficial solution to our patent infringement suit against Silicon Laboratories and we welcome them to the Z-Alliance. We look forward to working cooperatively with Silicon Laboratories on new digital power products. Their Si825x product family has very exciting potential as a platform for our Z-One™ technology."
