Power Integrations Receives FSA 2003 Award

December 14, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Power Integrations Inc. (San Jose, CA), a leader in power conversion semiconductor technology, announced that it received the award for "Outstanding Financial Performance by a Public Company" at the Fabless Semiconductor Association's (FSA) 2003 Awards Dinner Celebration, held at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA. To be eligible for the award, a company must demonstrate that it has doubled either revenue or net-income over eight consecutive quarters ending September 2003.

"We are pleased to accept this prestigious award," said Power Integrations CEO Balu Balakrishnan. "We believe that our particular approach to manufacturing, which is based on using the production facilities of fully depreciated fabs, while maintaining ownership of the process, has been a key to the strength of our financial performance. Renting these low-cost, trailing-edge fabs helps keep our intellectual property safe, enables cost-effective production, and limits capacity issues now and well into the future."
