Millennium Cell and Protonex to Display Portable System

January 31, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Millennium Cell Inc. (Eatontown, NJ), a technology development company that has created a proprietary process to safely store, generate and deliver pure hydrogen, and Protonex Technology Corp., a developer of fuel cell power solutions for portable and remote applications, will be displaying a prototype 30 W portable power system at the Tactical Power Sources Summit Conference.

The integrated power system will be the first deliverable under a previously announced US Air Force Research Laboratory, Dual Use Science and Technology contract awarded to Protonex. Under the program, Protonex and Millennium Cell are integrating Millennium Cell's hydrogen energy system with Protonex's PEM fuel cell system to provide an integrated fuel cell power source to provide critical soldier power for extended field missions. The prototype system is scheduled to be delivered to the Air Force in February of 2005.
