MGE UPS Launches PowerSentinel Monitoring Service

April 05, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

MGE UPS Systems Inc. (Costa Mesa, CA), a leader in high-availability power solutions to the industrial, telecom and IT markets, announced its new PowerSentinel™ service that provides access to uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems power status via a secure website that is monitored continuously by MGE’s Customer Care Center staff. The service offers users a real-time view of critical power from any remote location with web access, and ensures that status is viewed at a diagnostic level by the same people that directly dispatch factory service engineers from 170 service centers worldwide.

The PowerSentinel service offers flexible options for power monitoring using any available communications connection (Ethernet, phone line or cellular modem) in conjunction with MGE’s new built-in web server capability, a connected computer or even dry contacts. Available to any customer with an MGE service contract, the new service is an upgrade to their existing Teleservices program. Existing installations can be easily configured in the field to work with the enhanced PowerSentinel capabilities.

Available starting in the second quarter of 2004, PowerSentinel pricing starts at $699 for hardware and $50 a month for service for customers with an existing service contract.
