IEEE Dallas Power Electronics Society to Meet at APEC

The newly formed Dallas Power Electronics Society (Dallas PELS) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) will hold an organizational meeting Tuesday, March 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Reunion C Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency in Dallas. The meeting is being held concurrently with the IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference also being hosted at the Hyatt Regency.

"We believe that there over 200 power electronics professionals in the Dallas area that are potential members of the new Dallas Power Electronics Society," stated Donald Marabell, chairman of the Dallas PELS. "The initial goal of our Chapter will be educating engineers in the area of digital power electronics," Marabell concluded.

The petition to form the Dallas PELS was approved February 16, 2006. Initial membership includes 61 individuals.
