December 01, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Honda Motor Corp. (Japan) introduced its new ASM hybrid, minivan, the latest advance on its Intergrated Motor Assist (IMA) system technology. The futuristic, oval-shaped ASM, designed in the image of an ocean cruiser with a low floor, accommodates eight passengers.

The double-wishbone suspension delivers driving performance and occupant comfort, with innovative packaging and design and efficient powertrain and Collision Mitigation Brake System safety technology. The powertrain combines a V6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management, for enhanced fuel efficiency in highway cruising, and a motor assist system to supplement the engine's performance as required.
