General Dynamics to Acquire Fuel Cartridge Manufacturer

August 18, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Medis Technologies Ltd. (New York) announced that General Dynamics C4 Systems (Taunton, MA), a business unit of General Dynamics Corp. (Falls Church, VA), plans to acquire Itronix Corp. (Spokane, WA), a provider of wireless field-computing systems, including handhelds, laptops, and tablet PCs. Itronix was selected by Medis to produce the fuel cartridges for its refillable fuel cells, now under development by General Dynamics.

The acquisition supports Medis' belief that General Dynamics is looking to its fuel cell technology as an enabling technology for select devices and for a broad variety of applications supporting its Future Force Warrior programs.
